What Is a Duvet Cover?
A duvet cover is a removable, washable shell that slips over a duvet insert or comforter — it protects the insert and lets you change your bedroom's look without buying a new comforter. Care & Maintenance
- Cotton and Egyptian cotton: machine wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle, tumble dry low.
- Flannel: wash cold, tumble dry low — brushed cotton can pill if washed with rough fabrics.
- Modal & bamboo: gentle cycle, cold water, low heat or line dry to preserve softness.
- Button or zipper closures should be fastened before washing to prevent snagging.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a duvet insert to use a duvet cover?
Yes — a duvet cover is an empty shell designed to go over a duvet insert or comforter. It's not a stand-alone blanket.
What thread count should I choose for a duvet cover?
300–650 TC covers everyday use well. Go 1000+ TC for a noticeably smoother, more refined feel.
Are embroidered duvet covers as durable as solid ones?
Yes, the embroidery is stitched into the same quality cotton base as our solid sets and holds up to regular washing.
Is flannel too warm for anything but winter?
Flannel runs warmer than plain cotton, so it's best suited to cooler climates or winter bedrooms. For year-round use, a solid cotton or modal option works better.
What's the difference between this collection and the Egyptian Cotton Duvet Cover Set collection?
This collection spans all our duvet cover materials — Egyptian cotton, flannel, modal, and embroidered cotton designs. The Egyptian Cotton Duvet Cover Set collection is Egyptian cotton only.
